We are looking for a Pediatric Coding Specialist who values accuracy, teamwork, and integrity. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our providers are supported, our documentation is compliant, and our practice remains financially healthy so we can continue delivering excellent care.

About the Role

This position focuses on reviewing pediatric documentation and assigning accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes while working collaboratively with providers and the billing team.

You will be part of a supportive environment where communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement are encouraged.

What You’ll Do

• Review provider documentation and assign accurate codes
  
• Code pediatric E/M visits using current CMS guidelines
  
• Ensure proper modifier usage when appropriate
  
• Code immunizations and preventive services
  
• Review downcoded claims and assist with appeals
  
• Identify trends and work with the team to reduce denials
  
• Communicate respectfully with providers regarding documentation clarification
  
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance 

What We’re Looking For

• CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent certification
  
• At least 2 years of pediatric coding experience
  
• Strong understanding of E/M coding guidelines
  
• Experience working with Medicaid managed care and commercial payers
  
• Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable
  
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team

Licensed Practical Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers during patient office visits by preparing the medical environment and ensuring a smooth workflow. This includes efficiently escorting patients to their designated rooms, accurately recording vital signs such as blood pressure, height, weight, and collecting additional medical information as required.
• Administer vaccinations and injections in accordance with established protocols to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Perform select clinical tests, such as basic laboratory assessments or diagnostic screenings, under the supervision of medical professionals, ensuring accurate results and proper documentation.
• Handle patient communications by returning phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries, and scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.
• Maintain a well-organized and sanitary examination environment by regularly cleaning and organizing exam rooms, restocking essential medical supplies, and ensuring that the area is ready for patient use.
• Take responsibility for ordering medical supplies and vaccines, maintaining inventory levels to prevent shortages and ensuring that all necessary items are available for patient care.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support the overall efficiency of the healthcare facility and enhance patient care delivery.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school.
• Current practical nurse licensure in Tennessee is required.
• Basic computer knowledge.
