Morgan was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN. She was an Oak Ridge Wildcat who then became a Big Orange Vol fan while studying at The University of Tennessee. It was there that she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry before earning her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at South College in Knoxville, TN.
While in college, she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, whose philanthropy was The Children’s Miracle Network and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Between philanthropy fundraising events and volunteering her time in the ETCH ER and Dogwood elementary school clinic, taking care of kids has always been in her heart.
To make Dr. James feel old, it must be noted that Morgan was a patient of his growing up right from the start of his career and very first practice. He diligently tried to convince her to go to medical school and become a pediatrician over the years, but she was stubborn and followed her desire to become a Physician Assistant. However, after 9 years in Neurosurgery at UT Medical Center, she finally found her way back to Pediatrics.
Morgan lives in Farragut with her loving husband Shaun, two beautiful kiddos, Mac and Riley, her old man husky Oakley and cantankerous golden retriever JoJo. While she may be newer to Pediatrics than the rest of the Kids Central providers, she is dedicated to caring for your kids as her own as she knows exactly how it feels to be on the parent side of the office visit (her kids are patients at Kids Central as well!), and is an open book about all things “new mom” and breastfeeding- the good, the bad and the ugly!
